About the Park

Landahl Park is located on 1,397 acres, two miles east of Missouri Highway 7 on Truman Road.

Popular with mountain bikers, this park includes many miles of trails designated for bikers of all levels and skills.

New Facility

Our newest facility is an archery range complex with static targets and three walking courses.

Other activities include:

  • A picnic shelter
  • A softball field
  • Hiking
  • Horseback riding trails
  • Primitive group camping

Shooting Range

In 1981, the Missouri Department of Conservation opened the Lake City Shooting Range for target shooting and outdoor education. The Conservation Department operates the range to provide a safe practice area for hunters and marksmen.

Formerly the Lake City Park Reserve, the park was renamed in 1988 to honor former Jackson County Parks + Rec Director William L. Landahl.

Mountain Bike Trails

  • 21 miles long.
  • For various skill levels. Starts on Argo Road.
  • An 18.5-mile single track trail was built and is maintained by the Earth Riders Mountain Bike Club.
  • The other 2.5 miles of the trail are double-access roads. The Equestrian Trail Access and trailer parking are located south of Argo Road opposite the Lake City Shooting Range.
