All facility/shelter reservations, boat/motor, dock/dry storage and special activity permits may be obtained at:

Seasonal Permits

Seasonal boat/motor permits are also available at Blue Springs Lake Marina, Lake Jacomo Marina, and Longview Lake Marina.

Metal Detecting Permits

This permit allows metal detecting in the approved areas of our parks system. Detecting is allowed sunrise to sunset. You must notify the Park Rangers prior to metal detecting at (816) 503-4890.

METAL DETECTING IS PROHIBITED IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

- Soccer Fields
- Historic Sites
- Swim Beaches
- Fred Arbanas Golf Course
- Softball Complexes
- Archery Range
- Campgrounds
- RC Flying Fields

Season Permit: $35

Archery Permits

These permits allow you to use the archery range located in Landahl Park. The archery range season begins April 15 and concludes October 31 .

  • 1-Day Permit: $5
  • Junior Season Permit (15 and under): $20
  • Season Permit: $35

Horse Trailer Permits

These permits allow the use of horse trailers into designated horse trail areas.

Radio-Controlled (R/C) Flying Permits

R/C Flying permits allow the use of flying fields in Fleming Park, Longview Lake Park and Blue River Parkway. Permits will be issued subject to proof of liability insurance in the amount of $2.5 million. Current members of the AMA organization are issued liability coverage with membership.

Hot Air Balloon Permits

These permits allow the use of balloon ports at Fleming Park and Longview Lake Park. Permits will be issued subject to proof of liability insurance and current pilot's license.

  • 1-Day Permit: $5
  • Season Permit: $30

Photography Permits

Photography within our Parks is permitted following receipt and approval of the required Photo Permit Application. Applications are available at our Administrative Offices. Please call 816-503-4805 or email Parks + Rec to request an application.

Fees vary according to the usage request and site. Professional photographers may require a certificate of insurance.
